What approach and activities have we undertaken to advance this project?

We need to hear from management of companies that might benefit from using a reopened Great River Railroad (GTR) to begin assessing future traffic volumes. Any thoughts on the following items? • Pinpoint the cost of rebuilding the GTR, applying an entrepreneurial rail industry knowledgeable approach to the selection and acquisition of materials, contractors, engineering, and project management.
• Identify and advance local, regional, and statewide support among elected leaders, professional staff, and other transportation providers.
• Design a safe, efficient, and economical start-up rail operation based on the likely beginning volumes, flat terrain, and sparse local population.
• Create a realistic, accessible financial model of the costs of the GTR's construction, start-up, operation, and maintenance and its potential revenues.
• Identify the questions that should be pursued to establish an investor-grade business and economic development plan and inform a go-/no-go investment decision.
