Supply Chain Coalition Business Model, POME?

What are the innovative aspects of our CRISI Application?

Evolving during the application process

The grant makes research and market development profitable

Except for initial seed money the project becomes self-funding,

What is our mission?

Scale industrial change as quickly as possible per our definition of desired industrial change and world outcomes

Channel the diverse interests of the marketplace to our specific and focused services and products

Replicate our core services and products across all possible initiatives that fit our model

Self-fund as much as possible to maintain leadership, our ethics and timeline

Spend minimal time talking about how to make change and maximum time engaged in the process of making change by asking questions and reforming goals based on the answers

Submit the most powerful, effective CRISI Grant application ever, a new paradigm for a public-dollar funding application.

Have as much fun and ease as we can muster.

Create an environment where participants have their own experience of fun and ease.

Get a CRISI Grant to develop and operate collaborative development services for the OTM project

IntelliSynthesis

The first step in becoming the core knowledge base that the transportation industry uses to organize itself.

Offering to convene and facilitate the multistakeholder, multijurisdictional, multi-sector Collaborative Infrastructure Development.

What do we think the CRISI decision makers are looking for that we can deliver?

Co-fund capital projects

Willing to support innovation and collaboration services on behalf of broad vision and diverse project development

In terms of collaboration projects what do we want to do over the next year?

Demonstrate and accelerate the ongoing nature of market development via meeting-of-the-minds forums and KBs

Do significant work in producing a new generation of collaboration related software tools

Specifically via tokens and blockchains establish new forms of monetization and enumeration for collaboration between entities.

What, if anything, needs to change about our forum production strategy and process?

More robust, aggressive organizing goals

How can the CRISI grant and our work meet?

We do events for projects CRISI wants to see developed ASAP

Related to both goals, where do we get the $200K for the CRISI grant

Gain startup capital of $500K to commence producing forums, follow-up KBs, media products and commence collaboration software development. Possibly include consulting opportunities outside the forum model

Use $200K of the star-up funds as the 20% contribution to the CRISI grant

Jeff have established contact with a second venture source

First venture source, YCombinator application needs to be finished ASAP

How can OTM play into CRISI and OTNA work plans/initiatives

Use our start-up business model to produce forums and stakeholder KB for OTM and NAFF

OTM can contribute $200K as well

What is the new business model that we are inventing?

Research and market development as profit centers versus cost centers

Those who can self-fund will remain standing in the challenging currents of change

Enrolling paying sponsors by engaging in market place organizing with them previous to asking for sponsorship

Demonstrate the business model by practicing it immediately

Herding cats for fun and profit

Not directly a part of the CRISI grant

Use market development facilitation and organizing, forum production, knowledge management environments and development of new collaboration tools to generate subscriptions and sales

The forums are a self-funding, profitable lead generation and research tool. They seed further involvement of the stakeholders

How do you earn your return from sharing and scaling, not hoarding, protecting, or firewalling?

We collect and act on non-proprietary information

By identifying the goals, challenges and solutions for whole industries and across all sectors

Revitalization of the 5th estate concept

Establish a very proactive network of professional stakeholder advisory groups within unique industry segments

Establish a new definition of the fifth estate that recognizes the role of vast networks of linked advisory groups across the seven sectors of society that are conceived to address wicked problems.

What is our deal (Jeff and Michael)?

Unrelated to this project – a 50/50 ownership in the business start-up

Does not include consulting work, that belongs to SRF

What is the POME business model

Cross sector, sponsor funded forums that commence with iterative development of 10 goals

Knowledge base development by staff facilitators based on goal development

A version of the KB for professional stakeholders

Utilizing the data labels within the KB to develop market organizing/collaboration oriented technology tools

Industry Acceleration Platforms (market development ontology servers)
Trained small natural language models
Industry specific token and blockchain platorms

Eventually establishing POMES as operating systems for market development of whole industries

Intercity Rail POME
Agriculture Nutrient Management POME
Micro Grid POME

Are we open to not having limits on the framework within which we consider what to invent?

Yes, the OTM funded CRISI grant is a foundation element of the larger business opportunity and vision

Yes, include non-industrial markets, and look at using the same model for issue development

What personal concerns and goals does Jeff want to ensure are instilled in what we are doing?

Not directly related to the CRISI grant

We move fast to establish the business model in civil infrastructure markets to gain leadership around the concept of an industry operating system

That the goals of each forum are robust enough such that participants get excited and can see the impact on their industry.

Specific goals, market changing goals, flags in the sand

What personal concerns and goals does Michael want to ensure are instilled in what we are doing?

Install the IntelliSynthesis dialogue methodology at the heart of the POME, whatever we call it, rather than what is available on the Internet for interacting.

Use the first two rounds of an IntelliSynthesis process to enroll professional stakeholders in the other business services.

Establish IntelliSysthesis as a legimate citation source by publishing summaries of IntelliSynthesis events in industry publications and our own media products

By creating a robust market/issue development citation source we open up our work to being referenced in other research and Wikipedia

What does the CRISI Grant look like?

What is our best eligible project option under the CRISI grant?

“Any project necessary to enhance multimodal connections or facilitate service integration between rail and other modes”

“Research, development, and testing to advance and facilitate innovative rail projects”

Which entity is the ideal application partner?

The state of Mississippi

Bolivar County

Port of Rosedale

Port of Greenville

All four

Other partners?

University Transportation Center(s) to use a small group of their student team as facilitators

Transportation Board volunteer coordinating teams used as facilitators

Discuto

IntelliSynthesis

SRF as facilitation managers

Deliverables

Put a stake in the sand with ten goals for Bolivar County freight and rail development

Derived from the Rosedale Report

Is either the GTR or the CAGY rebuild on the goal list

Use our team of facilitators to reach out to OTM stakeholders for the purpose of organizing a series of iterative Zoom forums on the ten goals

Use the Internal OTM KB as the central archive of goal progress

Maintain an OTM Stakeholder KB

A MediaWiki environment

Establish the OTM internal and stakeholder KB as a living project environment

Use IntellISynthesis and Discuto to manage Q and A sessions

The CRISI grant seeds the content vitality of the Stakeholder OTM KB such that a viable ongoing funding model will be delivered at the end of one year

Sponsors

Subscriptions

Grants

What are the design principles we are setting out with?

No software development other than the addition of extensions and templates to the internal and external KBs

Experimentation with integration of IS and Discuto

What is the structure for our relationship with the government?

Within the CRISI Grant goals federal, state and local governments are simply stakeholders

Who owns the ongoing organizing process?

An independent non-profit with a board

This entity would own the KBs

What about applying to develop the guidelines for a new state rail plan design?

For RESEED, Rail Enabled Sustainable Environments and Economic Development

Subject: RE: Questions about the BCA for CRISI Grants

Hello, Jordyn –

Yes. For Track 1 projects, a qualitative BCA will suffice (as opposed to a traditional, quantitative BCA), since those projects are in the planning stage and it is near impossible for the applicants to assign values to their project benefits and costs.  The qualitative BCA should describe the potential benefits (focusing on the benefits of the planning project, not the benefits if built/constructed)  and costs (i.e., project budget details such as explanation of the various tasks, etc.) in great detail.  The BCA should be in a PDF or MS Word doc, and there is no min./max. page count requirement.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Marc Dixon
